I have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5).
Not too long ago I was diagnosed with a mental illness and this verse has been of great comfort and challenge to me personally. It would be easy for me to relinquish all control or responsibility of my thoughts over to “my illness” but this verse reminds me that I have the mind of Christ. In other words, my mind is whole, complete, and lacking nothing. So what do you do when what the world says about you contradicts what the word of God says about you?
For me, I stand in faith knowing that I am complete in Him. I don’t stress over wondering what is wrong with me or why this has happened to me, instead I focus on the the fact that everything I lack is found in Him. In His presence, in His love, in His grace and in His word. I find peace knowing that His power is made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9) and therefore I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
