This is Day 40 of 48 of the #TruthAboutWhoYouAre series. Thank you so much for joining in on this journey with me. I hope you are inspired over this 7 week series.
Today’s post is written by someone I have known since I was a little girl and absolutely love! She has helped me successfully navigate through many of life's challenges. Her name is Meghan Robinson Her and her husband @careyrobinsonoc are my pastors at @theocmovement. She's one of the most passionate people I know and I am so excited to share her thoughts on today's verse. Follow along in her journey and inspiring posts via Instagram: @divapastor
I am called of God to be the voice of His praise - Psalm 66:8; 2 Timothy 1:9
I love to sing and I sing loud! What I'm not saying is that I sing well! I've often been told by our worship team at church that they can here me singing (over their speakers!) Yikes! I don't have an amazing voice, it's ok....but it is really your perpetual choir girl sound, not Adele or Taylor Swift awesomeness!
Regardless, I continue to sing and loudly! I love worship because it completely takes my eyes off of myself and my current circumstances and fixes them on Jesus, the author and giver of life. Songs of worship declare God's faithfulness, love and goodness. They remind me that God is bigger than anything I might be facing and capable of seeing me through.
Pslam 66:8 declares "Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard."
Psalm 145:4 (MSG) say's "Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts."
We are called to be a voice of God's praise. What does that mean? We have a responsibility to tell stories or sing songs of "his mighty acts!" Why? It increases the faith of those who hear it and it increases our personal faith as well. When we reflect on God's nature, His goodness, His faithfulness in our past....it increases our expectancy for what He will do with our future.
Maybe you find yourself in a challenging situation today. Can I encourage you? If you will trust God to take your story and turn it into something beautiful....He will use it to show His goodness and faithfulness. Our story is never just about what God is doing in us. It is about what He wants to do in us and through us! When we open our mouth to share our story and give Him praise, we find purpose in the pain!
Today, take a moment to reflect on what God has done in your life. If you are having a challenging time finding anything good....(TAKE A DEEP BREATH)..... He gave you that! Be thankful! :) You are still living and breathing because He is with you! He has great plans for you and will accomplish His purpose in you and through you! It is time to sing His praise. Re-focus your attention on who God is and what He is capable of doing in your life. Then sing it, shout it, tell everyone about it! We are called to be a voice of His praise!
